This girl.
She is smart, she is spunky, she is independent, she is love, she is fearless, she holds her own, she can bring a room to laughter, she is charming, she is gorgeous, she is ornery, she is sneaky, she is boisterous, she is absolute delight.
We joke about the boy who will one day set foot on our doorstep to pick Ashley up for a date. She will open the door to greet her suitor but his eyes will drift past her and land on the three brothers standing guard behind her, and the macho Daddy who lives to protect her. She won't be bringing home any sissy boys, that's for sure.
This little one talks up a storm and loves to yell, "Bane, Nannin (Blane, Gavin), dinner!!!" She is covert and sneaky and loves to slip into the pantry when no one is looking to have her fair share of Cheetos. She longs to try on every pair of shoes in the house and loves to show off not only shoes but hairstyles, dresses, and the like.
I never had a climbing baby. Until now. If it's possible to hoist a pint sized body on top, she will figure out a way to do it. Her favorite place to be is atop the kitchen table but she's also the first to climb the tallest bounce house slides and cruise down fearlessly.
Ashley cherishes her books. Her favorites are Marvin the Ape, Goodnight Gorilla, I Kissed the Baby, Five Silly Monkeys, My Purple Purse, Go Dog Go, Goodnight Moon, Pete and His New Shoes, and the list goes on. She'll even sit through and entire Berenstain Bear book! Our nightly ritual includes book time, rocking and singing, and prayers.
She really enjoys puzzles, playdough, and drawing - "I ddrrraaaawwwww!!!!!" she'll often exclaim!
She had a peculiar bought of rash this month, remaining broken out for a week and a half straight. We never figured that out! She also suffered pink eye along with her brothers and Daddy (luckily Mommy dodged that one!)
What a precious girl you are, sweet one! We adore you!
